Privacy
at DOGON.
How we measure readership without tracking individuals.
Anonymous readership metrics
DOGON counts page views, internal clicks and engagement with editorial articles. The information is stored as aggregate daily totals by page, event type and broad referral category (for example social, search or direct).
What we do not collect for analytics
Our first-party analytics system does not store IP addresses, individual visitor identifiers, precise locations, email addresses or browsing histories. It does not issue analytics cookies. It honours browsers that send a Do Not Track preference.
How engagement is measured
An engaged article read is counted when a visible article page has been open for at least 15 seconds and the reader has reached at least 35% of the page. This is a measure of engagement events, not a count of unique people.
Newsletter and future services
If you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter or contact the editorial team, that is separate from our anonymous analytics. We will describe the collection and processing of subscriber information when those services are activated.
Data storage
Aggregate readership totals are stored in Cloudflare D1. This policy describes the DOGON first-party analytics implemented in October 2026. For privacy inquiries, contact DOGON through its published social accounts.
